1996 Nissan 200SX

Many cars have been made known as "sports cars" but only some are apt to be called
as such. Nissan's 200SX coupe falls under those "some" that qualify as real sports
car. From its physical, technical and driving attributes, anyone would agree it
really is. In 1996, Nissan 200SX was put to the spotlight by acquiring the QCAR's
Best Sports Award. Three models are available for the 1996 Nissan 200SX, namely,
base 200SX, SE, and SE R. The models are also referred to as the entry level Sports
Limited, mid-range Sports and Luxury. These four-seat passenger coupes stand on
a 99.8-inch wheelbase and offer a rear-wheel drive.
For this year, slight changes were made to Nissan 200SX. To name a few, the SE
and SE R had new body-colored mirrors and door panels. Subtle changes on the outside
were made including restyled grille and more angular headlamps. The Sports Limited
had an optional auto transmission for this year model. The base trim features
standard alloy wheels, airconditioning, limited slip differential, anti-theft
alarm, central locking, four-channel stereo, power steering, mirrors and windows.
Higher level trims enjoy fuller line of amenities, making your ride a real pleasure.
Under the hood, a 1.6 L engine keeps the base and SE models running while the
top level SE-R is powered by a 2.0 L engine. Nissan 200SX's turbocharged 2.0 L
engine gives off thrilling 147 kW and 265 Nm or torque. A four-speed automatic
and five-speed manual transmission is offered on all models. Features like front
and rear crumple zones, side impact door beams, energy-absorbing steering column
and driver/ passenger-side air bags are provided for your safe driving. Higher
level trims are equipped with anti-lock braking system.
